The Canadian Plowing Championships consist of three national plowing championship contests.

  • The Senior Plowing Championship with conventional plows

  • The Senior Plowing Championship with reversible plows

  • The Junior Plowing Championship with conventional plows.

All competitors at the Canadian Plowing Championships are required to follow the Canadian Plowing Organization Rules, Regulations and Safety Policy. Please note that the plowing rules have been updated for 2017.

2023

Canadian Plowing Championship

August 30, 31 and September 1, 2023, Woodville, Ontario 

The Canadian Plowing Organization is pleased to announce that The Region of Durham Plowmen’s Association will host the 2023 Canadian Plowing Championship Contest in late August of this year. A 100-acre wheat stubble field will provide great competition. The Durham Region Plowmen along with the CPO thank the Baker family for their support and the opportunity to share their skill, dedication and passion for this National Contest.  Two Canadian Champions will be crowned and have the opportunity to represent Canada at the World Ploughing Championship in Estonia in 2024.

2022

May 3 - 7, 2021
           Rivers, Manitoba

The 2020 Canadian Plowing Championship was held in Rivers, Manitoba May 2 to May 6, 2022. *

*All protocols with the Ministry of Health will be followed.  Anyone attending this event must be doubled vaccinated and show proof of the same before arriving. Arrival is set for Sunday, May 1st, and departure will be Saturday, May 7.  May 2 and 3 will be practice plots and the actual competition will consist of three (3) days of plowing, May 4,5,6.

The winner in each of the Conventional Class and the Reversible class is entitled to plow at the next years' World Ploughing Competition.

             Russia

The 2020 World Plowing Match has been rescheduled for June 19th and 20th in Russia due to COVID-19.
