It is my honour to welcome you as President of the Canadian Plowing Organization (CPO) to the 2024 Canadian Plowing Championships on Wolfe Island. Wolfe Island is a very unique location in Canada, that I am sure you will enjoy visiting. Many thanks to the Wolfe Island Plowmen’s Association and our land owners, Morningsight Farms, Henry and Janine (Handforth) Postumus for hosting this National event.
The plowing competition will take place from Wednesday, August 28th to Friday, August 30th. From these three days of competition, we will determine the Canadian Senior Conventional Plowing Champion, the Canadian Senior Reversible Plowing Champion and the Canadian Junior Plowing Champion. The Senior Champions will be eligible to plow at the 2025 World Ploughing Championships to be held in the Czech Republic.
Thank you to all of the competitors, CPO directors and members, judges, hosts and others who have spent much time and effort to make this competition the success that I know it will be.
I look forward to seeing and talking to plowing enthusiasts from across our great country on Wolfe Island in August!
